Building Harmonious Tiny Dog Relationships

Confident. Calm. Connected.

Struggling with barking, reactivity, or anxious behavior? Tiny Dog Rules offers specialized training just for toy breeds—helping your tiny dog become the happy, balanced companion you’ve always wanted.

Why Tiny Dog Rules?

We have a lifetime of experience working with dogs and dog behavior.

From my earliest childhood memories, I had an unhealthy obsession with dogs and was fixated on understanding everything about them.  My life has led me on a series of grand adventures, many of which have deepened my understanding of dogs and how they operate.  I have worked with nearly all dog breeds, in nearly all circumstances and have discovered that my ultimate strengths as a trainer lie with the tiniest breed on earth: The chihuahua! My skills do translate over to all breeds, but the chihuahuas are my world.

Meet Your Trainer

I’m Katie—Chihuahua breeder, trainer, and former Marine Corps K9 handler.

My training approach is grounded in real-life experience and the belief that meaningful change starts with the dog owner, not the dog. When we become more intentional, calm, and aware, our dogs respond in kind. It’s not just about commands—it’s about connection.

In my time working with toy breeds and their families, I have noticed a high correlation of anxious behavior in the owners of tiny dogs, and I aim to help educate owners, so they can work within themselves to show up healthier for their pups!

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the training take? Every dog-and-owner team is different. We start with a 60-minute consultation—either in person or via Zoom—to discuss your goals and challenges. After that, I’ll provide recommendations and a projected timeframe based on your dog’s unique needs.

What behavior issues do you address? Tiny dogs often struggle with reactivity, excessive barking, biting, lap guarding, and anxiety. My training focuses specifically on these kinds of small-dog challenges to help create calm, confident companions.

How much time will I need to train my dog each day? My approach isn’t about strict daily sessions—it’s about lifestyle. I’ll teach you how to be more intentional in your everyday interactions so training becomes part of your routine, not just a separate task.
