Hi, I’m Katie—the trainer behind the brand.
My love for dogs started from my earliest conscience memory.
Over the years, I explored every corner of the canine world—working at Petsmart in highschool, vet clinics in college, and later, serving as a K9 handler in the U.S. Marine Corps under President George W. Bush. Those experiences shaped my dog behavior knowledge and ignited my passion for working with dogs in all capacities.
In 2016, everything changed when I got my first Chihuahua, Lilly. She is my heart dog and has taught me so much about dog behavior, as the leader of my pack.
Lilly was the first dog to help me realize the capability of the chihuahua, when given proper training. These little dogs are often misunderstood, misjudged, and mishandled—and since meeting my first chihuahua, I have felt called to help change that. I now focus on raising and training emotionally sound Chihuahuas through my breeding program, Sophia Jade’s Chi Brigade, and helping other small-dog owners do the same.
Why Tiny Dog Rules Exists
I started Tiny Dog Rules because small dogs deserve more than one-size-fits-all training. Too often, they’re misunderstood or trained with methods meant for larger breeds—leaving both the dog and their owner frustrated.
We do things differently here.
My approach is rooted in clarity, compassion, and confidence-building—for both you and your dog. Whether you're raising a new puppy or working through challenges with an older dog, my goal is to help you create a calm, connected home where your tiny dog can truly thrive.
